I haven’t done a shoot since this past summer, which is the longest I have not created a still image that holds meaning. After moving to LA, I felt really uninspired for some time. It was pretty frustrating because creating something personal and the satisfaction of seeing the finished product and sharing it with others is one of the greatest feelings for me. That is part of the reason why I began seriously pursuing film over the past two years (currently in production of three on-screen projects and also writing my first feature length screen play). I’ve been feeling insanely inspired lately, and it has been awesome. I woke up on my 26th birthday and decided that it was time to shoot.
I have been wanting to photograph a series with the theme of what Delicacy means to me, through variables I am drawn to: body, form, and space. For me, it depicts a very quiet vulnerability. There is a quietness within all people, whatever they may be going through, that is so fragile and personal. When you think about it, it is what makes a person so beautiful. I have personally become very aware of this feeling over time, especially this past year since my accident. I want to create images that depict a personal sense of “quiet” that I feel: a sense of Delicacy, something that every one experiences, in their own way.
This series is still in production, but, for now, I wanted to share two of the images as a preview. Enjoy.
